Give him crap about his LT prediction but I think you've got his Chester Taylor position bassackwards. I think he said the opposite about Chester. Unless I misunderstand your post.

The Jets didn't want to sign Thomas because of the expense so I don't see them spending AS much on LT as it would have required to keep Jones. So, Vikes have a chance.

LT will be a Viking, he has to at least check all his options though, which is my guess why he's in NY right now. Guess'en on that one.....

I'm talking the whole "feel" of the Favre thing. You guys hated the guy (or most) but once he was a Viking you were all over him like he was the savior. Many of you even said he sucked, etc. I guess you were right on the savior thing. He was basically one interception away from the superbowl. Ha!

But yeah, I gave some grief only on the standpoint that a neat asterisk would be placed in history. Brett Favre of 40 something left the Packers and seek revenge signing as a Viking and won the Superbowl. After that, the Vikings plummeted into the Chicago Bears where they seek a starting QB for years and years. Although, Cutler better shape up or the Bears will enter that themselves again!

Anyway, here's a link from ESPN. What will the Vikings do without LT? Your backup ready for the 1-2 punch role? Or will it be Westbrook?

As for Chester and a rival. Yes he was and one I admired a ton. I've documented that on the site many of times. I can tell you this, I still can't believe we signed him. I saw it in the blogs and it made sense but the Bears normally don't do these things. This is a unseen thing in their club's history. That is, free agency. Still, I am happy, although expensive it could have been much worse.

Now you say every team gets free agents.....hmmmm, you're right, just like the Vikes picked up a much needed piece to the puzzel, a retired free-agent. They still need a QB bad, and with a good QB, they are a top 4 team! I wish they would have went a different direction in Favre, but worked out better than I expected. Somehow in your world, their legacy at their former teams matter. The fact is, Chester was division rival. So what if he wasn't a QB, or there for 19 years, the media blows all of that way out of proportion. All teams aquire free agents, its part of the game.

The shoe is on hte other foot this year.
