Red River (North) - Thursday, March 11, 2010

Report Details
Went north of Fargo this past Thursday.  Snow was high and lots of slush.  We were casting out past the ice and then something really amazing happened.  A section of ice that was (estimate) about 50 yards long and 20 feet wide started making noise.  There was a soft crunch, like breaking a branch and then a great upheaval.  The ice rose up out of the water a couple feet with water pouring off it.  It broke into two parts and started spinning into the river.  It was massive and pretty cool to see.

As you would imagine, we caught no fish.

It was nice to get out and start casting.  Looking down a hole was getting old.
