Red River (North) - Saturday, July 30, 2011

We went out in the late afternoon yesterday, and we had minimal luck.  Fished from shore in northern Fargo.....We tried frozen frogs, and suckers (both whole and cut).  I had a few really solid bites, and my friend had two on the hook.  We suspect the two he had on to be from 12-18 lbs...   They put up a HUGE fight.  The first fish went into the debris, and wrapped up the line, and the second one got almost close enough to net, but he had a bur on his swivel that cut the line..  TALK ABOUT BAD LUCK...  but...    it's nice to see that the big ones were biting, and I may try to go out today.  I hear fresh live frogs are the ticket, but nobody around here has any......   I couldn't catch any goldeyes at this spot either.....
