Whats the lake look like up there? I'm from Ia and haven't fished Vermillion lake yet. Is there decent walleye fishing or am I better off going to Yankton above the dam?

I fished this proverbial dead horse last weekend for 5.5 hrs (2-7:30 PM) and had only one bite. I didn't get a chance to see what it was (probably a bullhead! The lake is overun with em). I fished across a channel down by the sunken bridge area. Depth went from 10 - 19'. Talked to a few other guys who had fished some different locations there and they faired no better.

Not alot of anglers fishing yet but the ones that are going out have been catching some good eater sized walleyes. Anglers are finding walleyes close to shore near transition areas. Pitching jigs and minnows or casting cranks have both been working,lindy's have also been catching fish.
