Report Details
8 of us took a ride up to the NW Angle and fished out of the resort Flag Island. We got out on the water around 11am on Friday.

Friday: Sunny Skies and COLD. The high was around zero all day. Fished 22 FOW and picked up small numbers in the slot. Moved up into 12 FOW and got into some better action. Gold spoons did well for everyone and we fried up the catch of about 20 walleyes that night.

Saturday: Snowy and warmer high near 13. We went shallow right away and had action all day. The Walleyes were again hitting on gold spoons. I picked up a few in the evening on a Chubby Darter until a MONSTER pike elected to rear it's head and break off.

Total: We all took our possession limit home and figured we caught around 100 to 120 walleyes on Saturday. The biggest was a 22 inch fat hog that went back (slot).

Ice ranged from 24 inches to 10 inches (current) and lots of snow. Bring a snowmobile if you are heading up that way.

Good luck!
