Arnesen's reef is HOT right now!! Fished LOW 7/27-7/30, caught numerous fish over 22". Fish came on spinners or lindy's/floaters with crawlers on a 2oz bottom bouncer. Silver, gold, chartruce, white spinners were the best colors. Fish came from 32' outside the reefs up to about 20' on top of the reef, there are shallower spots on the reefs, but we didn't catch any shallower than maybe 18'. Boats seemed to congregate in the NE corner of Arnesen's reef, but we caught fish all over it. Biggest fish in my boat was 28" and 8.75#. We did see a few fish floating, but most people were doing a good job of reviving/releasing the slot/bigger fish. We didn't catch a fish on leeches or GULP. I did catch a few fish on deep diving Yo-Zuri crystal minnow in Perch color, 200' back on 10/2 Power Pro line.

Rasta Mon was there on sunday last week, Three of us fished for about four hours, we were on our way home from sioux narrows. Got about 40 fish total. All of the fish came on shiners. Got some fish jigging in 16 feet, then decided to put on some spinners and cover some ground. We picked up three triples in a row, its was sweet. We caught fish until we ran out of shinners. Most of our fish came out of 9 feet of water with spinners. We worked the inside of all the boats jigging. We were in the washout area of Pine island. Bring tons of shiners. Good luck. We got nothing over 19 inches but tons of 16 inchers. Saw two fish that looked to be in the 26 inch range caught. Mr. Hollywood aka the pimpster playa hustler Rasta

Stayed out of Wheeler's Point Mar 3-5. In 22 FOW, out by the reef. Between 3 of us, we got around 16-18 Fish. 3 Perch, 5 Cisco/Tullibee/Whitefish or whatever there actually called and the rest a walleye/sauger mix. The best bite was between 11-3 mid-day. I used pimple's with full shiners and did ok, my buddy used a Genz Frosty W/minnow heads. Size was not impressive, maybe 3-4 legal eye/sauger mix. No Pout at all and we kept our line's in all night as we stayed in a sleeper. All around great weekend, put a few miles on the sled's and scored 348,000 on Photo Hunt at the local tavern... I believe we posted as the GFAFB Boyz...So the high score can be beat...We found a great Bait Shop in Warroad, on the corner by 7 Clans, and there reports said Limits are being caught by 9AM up at SpringSteel, but that was from the hottie at the bait shop. Either way, it's worth a second look... My Pimple color's were red/green, but I'm not sure if it mattered. I did have better luck with the smaller shiners, and the smallest bobber possible w/out going under...Either way good luck and have fun...Rich T

Heading LOW this weekend, 10, 11 & 12 March. Probbly the last trip up this winter. I heard the fishing is picking up along the south shore. Here's a toast to warm fronts and hot fishing.

I would fish as far as you can off of Ardrians road. you can make it out 13.5 miles in 36 feet you might get some action, but look for suspened fish up like 25 feet off the bottom.

Fished lake of the woods from the 16th till the 20th and it really sucked I caught one fish. I fished out of Adrians, Arnesons and the Rainy River all the way up to clemetsons. The ice on the river averages around 12 inches with spots varing from 18'' to 4''. I think about 4'' I dropped the back two tires of my truck through the ice I got out just fine but my heart is still beating fast!

Just got back from fishing L.O.W from the 10th till the 13th fisiing was decent to good. We fished up by Big Oak Island one day and we pulled 8 walleyes all around 16". We fished in 36 feet of water. The thing that worked pretty good was either a big green jigging shad rap or a big silver or red swedish pimple. As far as you can go out on Adrians road 13.5 miles. The wierd thing was that all the fish we caught were 25 feet off the bottom. The second day we were out we went out from Arnesons Resort and rented a fish house. It was world class and we even caught quite a few walleyes. We fished in 13'' of water up by Twin Islands, another weird thing was is that they were holding so tight to the bottom that we couldnt even mark them on the vexilar. The key thing we did was lay the jig right on the bottom. A glowing green or red Jig o bit worked pretty good.

Has anyone ventured up into the Northwest Angle on snowmobile from Warroad? I've gone as far as Stoney Point up on the north tip of Buffalo Bay and had good success. I will be venturing that far again in a week, but I'm wondering if anyone has gone further than that, say as far as Oak Island. I am willing to go as far as I need to to get away from the dirty water. Hopefully it will get better as I travel north. Any info would be useful-I have GPS and have no fear of going 40 miles out or further as long as it is within our borders. Thank you and good luck fishing!
