I was raised in Wisconsin and am considering moving back to the midwest when I retire.  I have thought about the North Central part of Minnesota.  Can someone tell me how the general health of the fishing and all types of hunting are in that area.

I am from west central MN.  Fishing is pretty good in most all lakes.   I hunt deer and turkey and have no problem finding game.  If your a trophy hunter you have a pretty descent chance of shooting a nice buck every year although the biggest deer seem to be shot in southern MN.  There are a fair amount of small game to hunt and the goose hunting is fair.  Duck hunting has gone down the last few years.  Hope that answers your question.

Thanks for your reply.  One thing I forgot to ask about was the influence the wolves have on game populations.  Here in Idaho they have nearly devastated the big game in some areas with no end in sight.

Wolves are not much of a problem were I live but they are just north of here.  They do have an impact on deer and moose in northern third of the state though.  I hope they stay away from here.  Coyotes take there share of fawns but they get hunted heavily around here.  My brother-in-law lives in Aikin county and bear hunts,  last year he had more pics of wolves than bear at his bait sites.  They are getting thicker in that area of the state.
