Hello , I need support to feel a bit better.  Today Saturday 10-10-09 at 7:40 am, I shot a nice Buck at 22 yards, 14 feet up  in my stand. The Buck came along a fence line, working his way back to his bedding area. I came to full draw, made a little grunt noise with my mouth, and the buck came to a hault. I let the arrow fly, watched it hit the buck. I saw the arrow hit him a bit high, just above and forward of the shoulder .  I waited for 1 hour, and decided to get out of the stand , and walk to the area where I shot the Buck. I did not see any blood at all, I walked the tracks he made in very light snow covered ground, about 25 yards from where I shot the deer, I found the arrow, it had a light coating of blood, and some meat tissue, no signs of lung or bright colored blood. I decided to leave the scene, and went home for about 3 hours. I went back out and started following his tracks in the light snow, I found no more then 6 to 10 little drops of blood on the snow. The deer moved into a corn field  then crossed a road and into a big swamp area, about half mile from where i shot this deer. I looked until near dark tonight, some pheasant hunters also helped me look for a while. I pray this buck lives, Im having a hard time with  myself, and feel as im not a worthy archer. Cannot stand the fact of injury to a nice deer with no recovery,,,, It sucks. Jim
